The traces of ghostlike sounds (Madrid)

Madrid protest reimagined by Luba Diduch.

"I used Audacity employing effects such as reverb, changes in speed and reversing portions of the clip.

When I first I listened to the clip I thought about how protests such as these have occurred through history, and how sounds of banging pots can be made very simply using ready-to-hand implements. I was interested in some of the percussive and vocal elements in the clip. I also thought about how sound vibrates through time. This led me to use one continuous slowed-down track as a main structure for arrangement in the composition. For me, this main track symbolizes the traces of ghostlike sounds created during these protests such as these that continue to reverberate infinitely through time."
