Love Island. If you haven't seen it, the format is simple. Put a group of attractive young men and women into a holiday villa, encourage them to pair up between the bedsheets and see what happens. The couples are then voted out one by one with the last pair left winning fifty thousand pounds. Now the show has ended. But why was it so successful? What is its appeal?
