Civil society calls for urgent appeal to IDPs stranded on an island in Terekeka

Close to 30 – thousand people displaced from Gemeza by the intercommunal violence in Terekeka almost three months ago, are stuck on an island without shelter, food, medicine and other basic needs.

The displaced persons estimated to be from 5000 households are reportedly stuck on an island located between Gemeza and Terekeka.

Edmund Yakani, the executive Director CEPO civil society group, describes the situation of the displaced persons as extremely alarming.
