UNMISS Patrols enter Wonduruba for the first time in two Years

An integrated patrol unit of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan - #UNMISS has been able to enter Wonduruba County of Jubek State, for the first time in two years.

Along with civilians, military liaison officers, and ceasefire monitors, the patrol led by the Civil Affairs Division of the UN Mission, reached Wonduruba early this week and stayed in the town for three days interacting with key officials and the local communities.

More than 3 - thousand people were displaced two years ago, after clashes broke out in Kotigiri boma in Wonduruba Payam, in Lainya county Central Equatoria state.

Anne Schuit, a civil affairs officer said access to Wonduruba provided members of the integrated patrol, an opportunity to assess the security and humanitarian needs on the ground.
