Uniformed PSNI officers to take part in Belfast gay pride for the first time sparks controversy

The PSNI has been criticised after announcing there would be uniformed police officers taking part in Belfast's gay pride parade for the first time. Serving officers will take their place in the annual parade through the city centre next Saturday. A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Police officers and staff from the Police Service of Northern Ireland have been involved in the Pride parade for many years. However, this is the first time they will have taken part in the parade in uniform." But for some this is a move too far.
