Cape Coral Police Make Arrest in Hit-and-Run Crash

(August 1, 2017)- An injury crash last night on Del Prado sent 2 people to the hospital and landed another in jail. 

Last night around 9:20 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to a traffic crash at 1551 SE 32 Terrace.  A white SUV and a silver 4-door collided in the intersection.  The SUV left the scene, leaving behind a white partial bumper cover with a Nissan emblem on it.  The occupants of the silver car were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Two witnesses reported seeing the at fault driver in a white SUV leave the scene and drive to 1148 SE 32nd Ter.  Contact was made at the home where roommates were questioned. A "show-up" was conducted where witnesses identified the driver, 44 year-old Jonathan I. Kohutich, of Cape Coral.  Investigation revealed that Kohutich was driving and knowingly letft the scene of the crash.   Kohutich was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail.
