Free travel for spouses and partners - is this an acceptable perk of a job at Translink?

Do you think you pay too much for the bus or train? Could Translink be doing more to keep its ticket prices down? Well, the Nolan Show has learned that nearly 3,000 spouses and partners of Translink staff enjoy free travel right across Northern Ireland. The 'spouse travel pass' can be used on any Translink scheduled service with no restrictions with regards to times or routes. So, is this an acceptable perk of the job? Your partner enjoying free travel when you work for Translink. Or it is a case of hundreds of people not having to put their hand in their pocket when the rest of us do?
