Northern Ireland's top prosecutor has said doctors who refer women for abortions in Great Britain face no legal threat. In a letter to Amnesty International, Barra McGrory also said there is no offence in the law of Northern Ireland around promoting abortion services. The move has been welcomed as a major breakthrough for women's rights by pro-choice campaigners. But it's been criticised by pro-life campaigners. So is it a welcome clarification of the law? Allowing medics to get on with their jobs? Or an unwelcome intervention that's putting the lives of unborn children at risk?
