Curfew for City of Cape Coral LIFTED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

(September 13, 2017) - The curfew for the City of Cape Coral due to the damage done by Hurricane Irma has been LIFTED, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

The curfew was put in place to aid in the maintenance of public order by reducing the number of people out on public roadways after dark. This decreases the likelihood of traffic crashes and other accidents that might require emergency response and tax first responder resources. The curfew also reduces the likelihood of criminal activity, helping to preserve life, enhance safety and protect property.

The Cape Coral Police Department would like to thank the public for its patience and cooperation with the curfew, and also remind you to continue to use extra caution on the roads while we continue this recovery process. Once again, the curfew for the City of Cape Coral HAS BEEN LIFTED, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
