Earlier this week Arlene Foster said that Ulster Scots should no longer be "treated as an afterthought" and should be "embedded in our education system".

The DUP leader was writing in the Ulster Scot newspaper, where she also said Ulster Scots needs a strong presence in the media.

In the Belfast Telegraph today former DUP MLA Nelson McCausland describes the party leader's article "important" and a "thoughtful consideration of culture".

So what is this renewed emphasis on the importance of the culture and language all about?
