Aquatic weeds have disrupted river transport between Mingkaman in Eastern lakes and Bor town of Jonglei states.

The disruption has paralysed the transportation of goods and people between the two areas. Worst affected are the internally displaced persons who cross the river to receive food rations distributed by World Food Program - WFP in Mingkaman.

The state information minister in Jonglei state, Jacob Akech, said the disruption caused by the weeds has been brought to the attention of the state government.

The information Minister spoke with Radio Miraya's Mach Adut Samuel, outlining the steps being taken to solve the problem.
