White lies - is it ok for parents to tell their kids porkies?

How many parents tell their kids white lies and is it ok to do so? Well a new survey suggestion that half of mum and dads regularly tell their children porkies rather than upset them. Some of the fibs told is yes we are nearly there, eating carrots will help you see in the dark and if the wind changes your face will stay like that. But the survey also reveals that parents felt that it is important that children always tell the truth. So is it ok to lie?
