High-Level committee completes probe into border dispute in northern Upper Nile

A high-level committee that was formed to investigate a border dispute in Northern Upper Nile State is compiling its final report and is expected to present it to the President within one week. The 15-member team led by Vice President James Wani Igga concluded its probe into the root causes of the conflict between the Adar and Maban communities over the ownership of the stretch of land known as ‘Kilo Asara’ (10 kilometres). Peter Lam Both, the Secretary of the probe team, also the SPLM party secretary for information says they camped in the area for 10 days to study maps and consult conclusively with both communities and officials on the ground.
