Ahead of the 30th anniversary this weekend of a storm that devastated parts of Kent, weather experts have told kmfm that forecasting has improved enormously.

The worst gale force winds in living memory destroyed buildings and uprooted hundreds of trees across the county on the night of the 15th of October 1987.
