More now on the exam grades controversy, revealed here on the Nolan Show at the start of the week. The exams body, the CCEA, told us it was lifting the deadline for English Literature papers to be remarked after it emerged that hundreds of parents were questioning the grades given to pupils who sat GCSE, AS and A level papers this summer. For pupils sitting GCSE and AS exams, a D grade could hit their chances of getting back into school to sit their A levels. We can reveal that CCEA has confirmed that out of the 1,504 grade changes across ALL subjects this year, 183 GCSE and 94 AS grades changed from D to C. Vinny spoke to the SDLP MLA Colin McGrath who obtained these figures.
