Grim Picture of Food Security as South Sudan celebrates World Food day

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is forecasting worsening food security levels due to the ongoing conflict. The Director of Post-Harvest at the Ministry, Mary Benjamin says farmers have been displaced from their homes and insecurity has made trade routes impassable.

She says food security levels have gone down, and will go down further in the coming year, if fighting continues.

Mary Benjamin spoke to Abraham Maleck outlining how the World Food day celebration is being observed in Juba.
