The dad of a young teacher killed after being knocked off his bike near Leicester train station has been telling Capital new plans to improve safety there should help stop this happening again.

Sam Boulton, 26, was killed after a taxi door was opened and knocked him into the path of a van on London Road on his 26th birthday in July 2016.

His dad Jeff says taking cycle lanes off the road should improve safety. But he wants more education into how to check for cyclists when getting out of cars.

He's told Capital what Sam was like.
