Does a 6 year old need to understand commitment as it pertains to annual dues?

Bella and Josh's six year old hates her dance classes! Mom paid $700 for them up front for the year and says even though she cried the first two months she has to keep going. Dad thinks that's nuts for a six year old. What do you think?
