BYU linebacker arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving with an invalid license

BYU linebacker Francis Bernard has been arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.

The arrest occurred early Saturday morning according to the Utah County Sheriff's office.

Bernard is redshirting this season for honor code violations last fall... In addition to the DUI, he was also cited for driving without a valid license and proper registration.

A 22-year-old male in the vehicle with Bernard was cited for open container.

It is not clear if he is enrolled at BYU currently. Bernard was booked into Utah County jail at 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning and released shortly thereafter. KSL Newsradio's Kira Hoffelmeyer tells us more.
