Three Toronto based developers Diamond Corp., Lifetime Developments and Context Development is redeveloping a sixty acre piece of land on Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East as Wynford Green Condos. The architectural and designing duties have been rested with TACT Architecture, GiannonePetricone Associates Inc., Goldsmith Borgal and Company Ltd. Architects, MacLennan Jaunklans Miller Architects and Sweeny & Co Architects. Along with the planned 3,887 residing units, this multi-use development located in the Flemingdon Park neighbourhood will be home to residential, retail, office and community use space.Wynford Greens redevelopment will consist of 11,162 square metres of retail use space, 56,248 square metres of office use space and 16,012 square metres of community use space. TheWynford Green Incentive to reside here include world class dwelling units, commuting convenience and luxurious amenities. Currently the location of Wynford Green Condos belongs to an electronics manufacturing company known as Celestica International Inc. The proposed plan is to redesignate this are to Mixed Use Area and General Employment Area. There will be tentatively seven development blocks with new public streets with the number of storeys ranging from 15-44. Towards the north of the site runs the Canadian Pacific Railway line where the four storey townhomes are proposed to be stacked.

A little about roadways and unit structures

Wynford Green redevelopments is proposed to be located along the Crosstown Eglinton LRT line that stretches for 19 kilometres across Eglinton Avenue between Mount Dennis and Kennedy Station. There will be 54 bus routes, GO Transit lines and 25 stations and stops which will link to three subway stations. The unique factor the Wynford Green project is that it will demarcate the mixed use areas and the general employment areas. In the central area of the site there will be buildings ranging from 24 to 31 storeys in height. On the western part the eight high rise residential building are proposed to be built. The heights of the proposed general employment use buildings will vary from two storeys to eight storeys and will be located on the eastern part of the site. The total gross floor area for residential purpose is 300,826 square metres, total retail gross floor area is 11,162 square metres and total office gross floor area is 56,248 square metres. It has also been planned by the developers that the existing 82,498 square metre of office space will be demolished and will be used for manufacturing floor space. A hockey arena has also been proposed and parking space for approximately 930 vehicles will be available in two parking structures.

The Neighbourhood

Wynford Condos Promotion is ideally located near schools, shops and green space such as the Edward Gardens, The Toronto Botanical Gardens and many lush parks. The Ontario Science Centre and the York Glendon Campus is also located nearby. A short drive is the Rosedale Golf Club, the Donalda Club, and the Shops at Don Mills, the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation, the Fairview Mall and the Bayview Village. The selling status is still at the registration level.
