SPLA urges greater collective efforts to prevent Children from joining the Army

The South Sudan people’s liberation Army – SPLA today urged citizens to cooperate and support efforts aimed to prevent children from joining the army ranks.
The appeal comes amid intensified efforts by the SPLA to implement its action plan with the United Nations, which renewed their commitment to release all children within their ranks.
Since 2003, the SPLA has been included on the UN Secretary-General’s list of parties to conflict that reportedly recruit and use children.
Brig. Chaplain Kahamis, an SPLA child protection officer told Radio Miraya Reporter, Philip Wani that the SPLA is keen to be removed from the list of armies using children.
