Defence Minister explains standoff near ex-army chief’s home

The Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs has clarified on the heavy deployment of security personnel around the home of former SPLA Chief of General Staff General Paul Malong Awan.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Miraya, Kuol Manyang Juuk said the army administration is trying to persuade the bodyguards of General Malong to report back to their units to leave him with three official guards.
Minister Juuk confirmed that Gen Malong is in Juba, but did not specify his exact location.
The Defence Minister is urging the public not to panic and explains that the issue is being handled administratively, with no cause for alarm.
He spoke to Sworo Charles Elisha in this interview.
