A Tyrone man who punched his 6 year old granddaughter in the head six times has been given a suspended sentence. He got angry after she poured his bottle of alcohol down the sink during a family dinner. The judge warned he would "go straight to jail" if the behaviour was repeated. To protect the identity of the child the man cannot be named. He received a four-month sentence, suspended for two years. Is this an example of justice in the courts or soft sentencing?
