So it wasn't to be for Northern Ireland last night in Basel, despite a battling performance they couldn't manage to break through the Switzerland defence with the game finishing 0-0.
Ultimately the penalty decision at Windsor park in the 1st leg ended Northern Ireland's World Cup dream.
