UK Retail Sales, US Tax Reforms, Royal Mail, Greggs, Jesus & Da Vinci

Matt Brown Independent market Analyst talks to Nick Batsford regarding UK Retail Sales, US Tax Reforms, Royal Mail, Greggs, Jesus & Da Vinci.

Brown talks about the slowing appetite for risk in Equities.  The US Dollar as a result of delaying US Tax Reforms. UK Retail sales are in focus as sales data beats expectations, helping lift UK retail stocks.

In focus are numbers from Royal Mail, an uplift in dividend has helped the stock move higher but half yearly results show a drop in Royal Mail's parcel division, although an uplift in it's GLS division has helped. The Christmas period will be vital for Royal Mail's yearly figures. AIM stock Metal Tiger is covered with Brown noting it's recent push to remove the board of Australian listed Kingsgate.

Brown highlights the recent auction of a valuable Da Vinci painting, sold for $450 million dollars. He also covers the recent uproar over Greggs the baker replacing Jesus in a nativity scene with a sausage roll. Finally, looking ahead to today's macro releases, Brown notes the EU CPI data and Bank of England's Carney speaking as key focal points today.
