It was announced yesterday that the statement process which guarantees extra help to special needs pupils here is to be overhauled. That sparked concern from families who have fought long and hard to get their children the help they need. Education Minister John O'Dowd says the review of services will mean a faster response and a better education for children with physical or learning disabilities. However only 10% of the 3000 responses received during the review approved of replacing them.
