German Pensioner eats 64-year-old lard

A German pensioner who received a tin of American lard in an aid package 64 years ago has only just opened the tin and tasted it. Hans Feldmeier, 87, a retired pharmacist from Rostock, told Philippa Thomas it was still perfectly edible.
