Exit interview with UNMISS Political affairs Division Director Dr. Seth Kumi

On Monday 27 November 2017, Democracy in action Presenter, David Lukan, sat down with Dr. Seth Kumi, outgoing director of Political Affairs Division of the UN mission in South Sudan. Dr. Seth Kumi discussed his work as a UN civil servant, his experience working in South Sudan, and his projection on the political future of South Sudan, a country that is struggling to rise out of conflicts.

“We need to rebrand South Sudan and I think this is the responsibility of all South Sudanese particularly the political elites,” he said adding that; “we have to also change the perception that South Sudan is a lost cause and broken beyond remedy I don’t that this is the case. We need to raise the visibility of South Sudan by enhancing more positive reporting.”
