UN ASG Victims’ Rights Advocate stressed need for Zero Tolerance for SGBV

The UN Assistant Secretary-General Victims’ Rights Advocate – Jane Connors says there must be zero-tolerance to all forms of sexual and gender based violence.

Addressing a press conference in Juba South Sudan this morning, Ms Connors stressed the need for preventive measures and community based complaint mechanisms for victims to report.

Ms. Connors has been on a five-day visit to South Sudan implementing her mandate to support a UN system-wide strategic response to the rights and needs of victims of sexual exploitation and abuse.
