The UK government has announced a humanitarian package of 52 million British Pounds for the people of South Sudan.

The package announced from the Department for International Development will support those fleeing the conflict in South Sudan and help Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia – to cope with the largest refugee crisis in Africa.

It will provide much-needed food, shelter and support for communities including refugees and internally displaced people, and comes days ahead of a much anticipated High-level Revitalization Forum on the faltering peace agreement.

The chargé d'affaires of the British embassy in South Sudan - Mike Riley and the Officer in charge of the UK aid program in South Sudan - Becks Buckingham spoke to Sebit William and Irene Lasu about the aid package and the prospects for peace.
