If you need to travel by train to get away for Christmas, you’re being urged to do it today before major engineering work starts. More than 1000 Network Rail staff are working across Christmas and New Year to deliver improvement work in the county and on the Thameslink programme. From tomorrow until January 1st there will be line and station closures affecting Southeastern and Southern services - including no services on Christmas or Boxing Day.
