Northern Ireland's hospitals are facing "significant" pressures this Christmas, with patients being urged not to visit casualty departments unless they have a real emergency. The health service has released an additional £7m to help ease pressure - some of that will be spent on increased staffing and opening extra beds to cope with the volume of patients. And some patients will be asked to free up much needed hospital beds by moving to a nursing home - even it it's not their first choice for residential care.
