The Last Jedi Becomes Top Box Office Earner of 2017

(LOS ANGELES) — On the last day of the calendar year, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" has surpassed "Beauty and the Beast" as the top grossing film in North America in 2017.

The Walt [f500link]Disney[/f500link] Studios said Sunday that "The Last Jedi" is estimated to add $52.4 million over the weekend, bringing its domestic total to $517.1 million. It also crossed the $1 billion mark globally after just three weeks in theaters.
