Powerball Jackpot Jumps to $440 Million

The Powerball jackpot ballooned to $440 million after Saturday's drawing came and went without a winner.

Had a single winning ticket been drawn on Saturday, the prize would have been $384 million. The new jackpot is the ninth-largest in the game's history, according to the Powerball website. The next drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 10:59 p.m. ET.

Powerball players aren't the only gamblers who could win big this season.
