The Southern Health Trust has confirmed that non-emergency surgery at Craigavon Area Hospital was cancelled over Christmas and the New Year. The Nolan Show has asked the Trust when operations will be rescheduled, what specific surgery is affected, how many patients have been affected and what is the knock on affect for waiting lists. We have, as yet, not received any response to these questions. The cancellations were brought to light after a County Down mother of five contacted the Nolan Show after her knee replacement operation was cancelled twice. Alison Chesney is 53 years old and lives in Scarva and has been waiting two years for her surgery - and she told our reporter, Nicola Weir, that her life has been put on hold as she struggles to cope with the pain. We also got reaction from SDLP MLA Dolores Kelly.
