Government partners with JICA to push for social cohesion and Unity through Sports

Preparations for the third National Unity day sports event scheduled for January 23rd are in high gear.

A contingent of Bangladeshi peacekeepers serving with the UN Mission in South Sudan have over the past week been renovating and compacting four football grounds in Juba ahead of the games scheduled to start on January 27th .  

The national Unity day is organized by the National Ministry of Culture, youth and sports and the Japan International Cooperation Agency - JICA.  

“Sports for peace and social cohesion.” has been selected as the slogan for the event. 

Mr. Taban Koma, Program Coordinator of JICA South Sudan and Hon. Edward Yugu, Director General, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports spoke to Sebit William on Miraya Breakfast show explaining the significance of the National Unity Day.
