Radio in Wales began with 5WA in 1923, based in Cardiff in premises above a music shop, and broadcasting on 850 kHz.
Mostyn Thomas, a world renowned baritone, tells here of how he sang Dafydd y Garreg Wen (David of the White Rock) on the opening day – the first Welsh words heard on radio.
