'Get to Higher Ground Immediately.' Earthquake off Alaska Prompts Tsunami Warnings

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 has struck 175 miles southeast of Kodiak, Alaska, triggering tsunami alerts all the way down the West Coast, as far south as the Mexico border.
The most immediate threat is to Alaska and British Columbia, where a tsunami warning was issued. The Anchorage Office of Emergency Management said: “If you are located in this coastal area, move inland to higher ground.
