Bosses in Medway have agreed to try and go single-use plastic free.

At a meeting last night they were urged to phase out products like bottles, cups and straws at all council buildings and events by the summer - but have changed that to 'as soon as is reasonably practical'.

It all follows reports 9 million tonnes of plastics enters our seas and oceans every year.
