UNICEF global appeal targets 2.4mln children in South Sudan

More than two million children in South Sudan are set to benefit from an emergency appeal put out by UNICEF for children in conflict zones. 

The UN children’s agency launched the global appeal on Tuesday seeks to raise 3.6 billion dollars for response programs in South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Nigeria, Syria and Yemen. 

Obia Achieng, the Chief of Field Operations in the UNICEF South Sudan says the appeal covers life-saving food and nutrition, vaccination, education and water and sanitation projects for the children of South Sudan. 

He spoke to Sebit William and Irene Lasu in this interview.
