Interview: UK Charge D’affaires in South Sudan, Mike Reilly on Sanctions and Expectations from HLRF

The UK Charge D’affaires in South Sudan, Mike Reilly is calling on regional bodies and governments to take action and support sanctions against spoilers of the South Sudan peace process. 

 The European Union on Friday announced restrictions against Former army Chief of Staff General Paul Malong, Deputy Chief of Defense and Inspector General Malek Reuben Riak and Information Minister Michael Makuei Leuth, effective immediately. 

The sanctions include assets freezes and a ban on travel to EU countries. Speaking on the Miraya Breakfast Show, Mike Reilly says his government is in support of the restrictions as a member of the European Union and added that this will send a clear message to other spoilers.  

Mike Reilly, spoke with Miraya Breakfast show Hosts Irene Lasu and Sebit William highlighting the role the UK government is playing in South Sudan's Peace process.
