Tuesday Teaching Tips: "How to connect with the heart"

It is vital we connect with the heart when we are speaking. How can we do this? What do we see in Jesus?

"Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things?”" Mk 2.8

1. Observe: 

Luke 14:7 "When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honour at the table, he told them this parable:….”

What are you seeing? Hearing? 

2. Question:

Luke 9:18..20 "Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”….“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.”

What are you learning?

What obstacles to your faith are you facing right now?

Conclusion

What do your audience need? 

What are they hoping for?

What are they worried about?
