“My perception of time stretched; it reminded me a lot of my childhood”

This episode is sponsored by SproutBox, an awesome co-working space located in Delhi where the episode was also recorded (www.sproutbox.in). If you are a startup, freelancer, blogger or just a company who is looking for shared office space, SproutBox is the place for you. They even have a fully equipped maker space in their Okhla location where inventors and DIY enthusiasts can create and build products.

Our guest is Rushikesh Sheth, a computer engineer who quit his job in Silicon Valley to travel around the United States, living in a van he spent many months building.

In our conversation, we discuss why he left his job, what made him embark on his journey and how he prepared for it. He breaks down what a typical day driving through the country looked like, how Walmart parking lots were his go-to sleeping spots and his opinion on Christopher McCandless from Into The Wild. He also reflects on his experiences and the people he met, how he learnt to deal with loneliness and whether he would recommend others to quit their job and challenge themselves with similar adventures.

You can check out more about his journey including videos and write-ups on how he built his van on his Blog - www.brownmaninavan.com, where he also uploaded beautiful photographs from his trip.
