A new centre is set to be opened in Gravesend, looking into motivations for committing crimes. The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Community Rehabilitation Company - who supervise low and medium risk criminals - will launch the research unit at Joynes House in New Road this summer. It will be the only one of its kind in the UK, with probation officers working with academic specialist to analyse what community sentences do and don't work. Graham Wines is one of the company directors.
