International Women’s day evokes cries for Peace in South Sudan

Hundreds of women have turned up to celebrate International women’s day at the Nyakuroni cultural center in Juba.

This year’s celebrations come amid concerns of growing threats to women opposed by the unending conflict.

Reflecting on the theme for the day, Press for progress, Zainabu Yasin, said the conflict has shattered the hopes for progress because the conflict has flushed out many women from the rural areas.

Zainabu made a bold statement decrying the conflict.
