Concerns from residents in Belfast's Holyland ahead of St Patrick's Day as council moves to limit street drinking scuppered by Stormont collapse

A plan to give Belfast City Council staff powers to both confiscate alcohol and issue fines to those drinking in public places has failed due to the collapse of Stormont. Powers that may have helped with the management big events - like St Patrick's Day celebrations. This story has been reported by the Belfast Telegraph. UUP councillor and former mayor - Jim Rodgers joined Stephen, he is on the People and Communities Committee who discussed this on Tuesday and we were also joined by Brid Ruddy from a resident association in the area and Ray Farley from the Holyland Regeneration Association.
