Episode 220,   Apr 03, 2018, 04:53 AM

Civil society activists are calling for the intervention of the Africa Union High implementation Panel, to step in immediately and resolve an emerging Border dispute between Sudan and South Sudan.

The call comes after the government of Sudan closed its border crossing point with South Sudan at Joda on Wednesday last week. Hundreds of South Sudanese citizens are reportedly stranded in Joda.

CEPO executive director, described the border closure as “totally unacceptable.” Edmund Yakani, said the disputes over the border points must be resolved peacefully, without affecting the citizens along the borders of each country.
