The February Slayings, Episode 2: Becky Martin

After the abduction and murder of Carla Walker in February of 1974, the police loosely theorized a possible connection to 2 prior unsolved homicides. These murders shared some similarities with Carla’s, one of which is the month that the crimes took place. The headline-hunting press seemed to be more enamored with the idea of a connection than police, or at least more than the police led on, and without hesitation dubbed the homicides “The February Slayings.” There were, and are, certain details and events that are almost eerily common between these murders. Becky Martin was the second in this sequence of unsolved cases.
