The Spotlight with United Nations Volunteer Bashir Ur- Rahman, Monitoring and Reporting Specialist from Pakistan

Bashir Ur - Rahman, is a United Nations Volunteer - UNV from Pakistan, serving as a Monitoring & Reporting Specialist working with South Sudan Humanitarian Fund Technical Secretariat, of the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs - UNOCHA.

"The basic thing is humanity, when you are in the field you don't care about the color, religion or even anything you just look at the need and as a volunteer, you strive to provide make the world a better place," says Bashir.

Armed with 18 - years of experience, Bashir has managed operations in complex political situations, security contexts, conflict and emergency situations such as Earthquakes, Flood sand armed conflict emergency.

"There are no borders in volunteerism," says Bashir and he proudly says that "anywhere there is a need, you should be able to step out and step up."

Bashir has served in different capacities as a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, Coordinator, Manager, Consultant, and Technical Advisor.

Today we spotlight Bashir - Ur - Rahman's journey as a United Nations Volunteer in South Sudan.
