Platform Africa, a not for profit organisation has embarked on Trauma Healing training of trainers, to strengthen community-driven actions to mitigate trauma through building the capacity of refugee community leaders.

More than 30 trainiers will  pass use their skills to provide therapeutic activities targeting refugee children in Ofua 2 Rhino Camp.

The art for therapy initiative is designed to help these children recover from conflict associated trauma and other mental disorders common in children who have lost their parents to the conflict.

Speaking to Radio Miraya, Sharlotte Kigezo, a psychologist working with Platform Africa, said that the therapy is focused on orphans who most often are left out of psychosocial programs in the camps.
